For Titan Contratistas Generales S.A.C, occupational safety and health culture is a permanent commitment; that is why we work under the technological enhancement approach, risk reduction and strengthening of a safety culture, so that we can maintain and provide optimal and healthy work spaces.

MINING SAFETY

Our safety policy aims at achieving a high safety performance for all its collaborators and contractors, with the purpose of preventing personal injury, occupational diseases, damage to property, based on the comprehensive risk management.

As part of our policy, we have the Annual Occupational Safety and Health Plan for its implementation and compliance in all the stages regarding the underground mining exploitation activities and processing in the concentrator plant, which complies with the Regulation of Occupational Safety and Health in Mining, approved by Supreme Decree Nº 024-2016-EM and its amendments. The main objectives of the Plan are:

To protect the life, health and safety of workers and/ or contractors, through the promotion of a culture of risk prevention and safe work.

To identify and evaluate the hazards and risks in all activities and facilities that may cause accidents, incidents or occupational diseases to workers and/or contractors.

To train the workers in Safety, Occupational Health and Environment issues.

To minimize risks/impacts in order to reduce the occupational diseases, injures, environmental pollution and failures in the diverse processes.

Occupational Safety and Health Committee

In compliance with the current regulations, we have established the Occupational Safety and Health Committee, which is a joint one: that is to say, it has the same number of the Employer Party and Workers Party representatives.

Among the main activities carried out by the Committee are the following:

1) To enforce the duties and obligations established in the Occupational Safety and Health Regulation in Mining and other rules related to occupational safety and health, harmonizing the activities of its members and encouraging teamwork.

2) To prepare and approve the regulation and constitution of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee.

3) To approve the Annual Occupational Safety and Health Program.

4) To schedule the Committee´s regular monthly meetings to analyze and evaluate the goals and targets established in the Annual Occupational Safety and Health Program.

5) To perform monthly inspections of all facilities, recording in the Occupational Safety and Health Book the recommendations with deadlines for their implementation and the compliance indicators; and punishing the infringers if necessary.

6) To approve the Internal Regulation for Occupational Safety and Health, which will be distributed among all the workers.

7) To approve the Mining Plan for mining operation activities and the Metallurgical Processing Plan for the concentrator plant activities.

8) To approve and review on a monthly basis the Annual Training Program.

9) To approve the Use of Explosives.

10) To analyze on a monthly basis the causes and statistics of incidents, hazardous incidents, occupational accidents and occupational diseases, issuing the pertinent recommendations.

11) To encourage the new workers to be given an adequate training in risk prevention, mining safety, occupational health and environment.

Preparedness Plan and Response to Emergency

Titan Contratistas Generales S.A.C. implements, disseminates and starts up its Preparedness Plan and Response to Emergency, where the protocols of response to mining will be considered, as well as the occupational and environmental contingencies that are most likely to occur in the mining unit.

Its structure is based on the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulation in Mining. As part of the preventive measures, the following are under way:

For underground works, there are shelter stations that have been built and installed according to the technical requirements specified in the Occupational Safety and Health Regulation in Mining.

There are Emergency Brigades prepared to respond both in surface and underground areas.

The Annual Training Program is being continuously implemented, which aims at developing abilities and skills of all personnel seeking to promote health, self-care and prevention of diseases and risks.

The occupational health management in our operations is a priority matter and complies with the commitments in our Occupational Safety and Health Policy. As main activities we have:

The surveillance of workers health, through annual pre-occupational exams, change of job functions and leaving medical exams in order to early identify any occupational disease or health condition that requires attention or restriction in their work.

The recording of occupational accidents, occupational diseases, sick leaves, absenteeism due to sickness, statistical evaluation of the results and action plans.

The technical advice and participation with regard to the worker´s health control, occupational disease, first aid, urgencies and emergencies care due to occupational accidents and occupational disease.

The participation in Occupational Safety and Health Committees regarding occupational health aspects.

Health promotion in general aimed at generating well-being among all the workers.

Occupational Medical Surveillance

To ensure and preserve the workers´ health, Titan Contratistas Generales S.A.C. provides the annual pre-occupational and leaving medical exams for all its workers using the occupational medical record as the basic medical data collection tool, where the occupational background of each worker is being recorded.

The occupational health doctor directly or through his paramedical staff carries out a constant health education work through cycles of meetings that in clear and graphic language make known to workers and their registered dependents the dangers to common and occupational diseases, especially those prevailing and the way how to prevent them.
